Maan,

What is the error logged in your eventlog ? Can you give me details on your environment ?

Thanks,
Sampath

Hi Sampath, we just tried an installation and encountered the same problem.

The reports work fine if you access them directly through the reportServer URL (http://xyz/reportserver/loadtest/loadtestreports?%2fLoadTestReports&rs:Command=ListChildren), but of course, we'd like the website to work to gain access to that functionality.

The .msi installed without error and the virtual directory was created. The machine is a Windows Server 2003 SP2 box. Our SQL Server is 2005 SP1. We did not enable Mixed Mode authentication because we are using Windows Authentication everywhere (is mixed mode a requirement for the app to work?).

We checked the event viewer, but we didn't find any errors related to this application.

Let me know if you need any other details.

Silver,

Mixed mode is not a requirement. Does the website show up after installation ? Are you able to view the default landing page?

Thanks,
Sampath

Sampath, the website and the default landing page do not show up after installation. Currently, we only have summary detail available through the MSF for Agile Load Test report, but as you can imagine, the engineers need access to all the reference data.

I'll continue to troubleshoot. I understand that you probably have no idea what is going on in our environment, but is there a way to troubleshoot this by looking at an install logfile, or any other mechanism?

Cheers,

Silver

... more details

-i can access all the reports from the reportserver URL (they all work), so i'm assuming the report and db portion of the install worked correctly.

during the installation process i'm entering the following:

sqlserver: ca01s02

username: <domain>\<uid>

pwd: <pwd>

reportserver: http://localhost/reportserver

is there an issue with the way i'm attempting to login as a windows user above?

...more details

i tried all combinations

-with trusted connection (i'm an admin on the SQL Server, so i should have no issues using this authentication mechanism)

-with uid/pwd (i created a sys admin account to test this)

I always get the following trying to access http://localhost/vstsCustomReports

The web application encountered an unexpected error.\n Please refer the event log for more details

This is an ASP.NET 2.0 application? Currently in IIS it is setup as a virtual directory, asp.net 2.0, under the default application pool.

Though it is not open source, I tried this product and worked on my IIS server :

http://www.qualiwebsolutions.com there is documentation on how to install too.
